The 6th Annual Practice What You Preach Walk/Run/Zumba took place on June 26, 2010 and was a resounding success. More than 200 registrants enjoyed the beautifully scenic route along the seawall in Vancouver’s Stanley Park.
Participants chose between a 5k and 8k route. Some took a leisurely stroll, while others took advantage of some friendly competition and made it a true race event. Several participants stayed inside and enjoyed an energetic Zumba class to get their hearts beating and feet moving.
Through registration fees, pledges, donations and corporate sponsorship, Healthy Generations Foundation raised more than $13,000 to help fund various Canadian Paediatric Society priority projects in public education and advocacy.
A big thank you to our corporate partners who continue to support Practice What You Preach. P&G Professional sponsored the event for the 4th consecutive year and their support has become an integral part of our success. The grand prize was donated by WestJet and included two return airline tickets to any scheduled WestJet destination. Other prizes donated by Winners/HomeSense, Tim Hortons, ATEX, and the Hilton Québec contributed to the fun and excitement of the event.
